Disciple 1 covers the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in an informal but structured setting for the first-time Biblical learner as well as the more seasoned student. Each two-hour weekly meeting includes prayer, a short videotape providing excellent commentary on the Scriptures by an outstanding Bible scholar, and varying discussions and experiences in large and small groups. Individual preparation time is required. The participant’s manual describes a daily reading schedule of 20-30 minutes that may be done each day or at one sitting. There are a few reflection questions - no tests or required memorization.

Disciple 2 focuses on Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts.

Disciple 3 is built around the prophets in the Old Testament and the Letters of Paul in the New Testament.

Disciple 4 examines the Writings from the Old Testament (including Psalms, Proverbs, Ezra, Nehemiah, Daniel, and Esther) and from the New Testament (the Gospel of John, the Revelation, and the General Letters).

This Bible Study is open to those who have completed DISCIPLE 1. It confronts the reader weekly with some aspect of Jesus in the Gospels and connects Scripture to daily life and Jesus’ call to discipleship. The study takes place on Wednesday mornings. We will offer DISCIPLE 1, 2, and 3 this year.

Wednesday Night Small Groups

These groups meet following Wednesday Night Supper at venues to be announced. Through small groups, Church members and friends develop deeper relationships with God and with one another. Building relationships is crucial to building disciples. The topics are varied - looking at Scripture, the building blocks of the Christian faith, and spiritual disciplines, to name a few. These opportunities for nurture, prayer, and education are available September-May. Most groups last from 6-10 weeks. Registration is available through the weekly bulletin or by contacting the church office.
