Amazon Medical Mission Trips
The Independent Presbyterian Church in Brazil partners with other Christian agencies to share the Gospel by delivering health care assistance to remote villages via a riverboat on the Amazon River. Volunteer health teams provide medical and dental care, lead vacation Bible schools for children, conduct worships services, and provide school materials for youth and children.
Dick Swayze, former mission co-worker to Brazil, connected FPC to this important project and spoke about it at our Global Mission Conference . In July of 2011, the Moderator of the Independent Presbyterian Church of Brazil, Aureo Oliveira, visited FPC and gave an update on their work in several areas, including these Amazon trips. Our support helps to purchase medical and other supplies needed for the trips.
