A native Georgian, Carmen Skaggs received her Bachelor of Arts from Mercer University, a Master of Theological Studies from Duke Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia.  She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of English at Columbus State University, where she specializes in nineteenth and twentieth-century American literature.  Carmen and her husband Jonathan are the proud parents of Nathan.
