Mission
Statement
Our mission is to be
an open, caring community of Christian cross-bearers who
joyfully enter the gates of the Sanctuary to worship the
Triune God; who go back out into the world equipped for
service in the name of Jesus Christ; whose hearts and
minds are always open to the presence of the Spirit of
the Risen Lord; whose doors are open to those who knock.

Vision Poem
Adopted by the Session 2003
First
Presbyterian –
A church with staying
power.
Seventeen decades in the heart of Columbus –
Staying
–
through war, disease,
crisis within and beyond
Staying
–
reformed yet welcoming,
traditional yet alert,
resourceful yet dependent
upon God’s staying power.
Staying
–
busy yet purposeful,
community-minded,
proud yet responsible.
Staying
–
to serve the new Columbus
–
diverse, mobile, international.
Staying
–
to hear God’s call afresh
for our 18th decade and beyond.
First Presbyterian –
staying power
In Christ
Out of the past
Into the future
Through the Spirit.
